The NVIDIA MCP7Y00-N002 is a 2m passive copper splitter cable that breaks an 800Gb/s Infini Band NDR twin-port OSFP connection into two 400Gb/s OSFP links. Passive copper cabling carries no transceiver electronics, so it draws no power and adds minimal latency, which is why it is preferred over optics for short in-rack runs. The MCP7Y00-N002 supports data rates up to 800GbE in its OSFP-to-2xOSFP configuration.
NDR breakout cables are used to connect a high-radix Infini Band switch to compute nodes running at half the port rate, doubling the effective node count served by each switch port. This is standard practice in AI training and HPC clusters, where an 800G switch port feeds two 400G GPU-node adapters within the same or an adjacent rack. Buyers are typically AI and HPC cluster architects, datacenter network engineers, and integrators building NVIDIA Infini Band fabrics.
Fusion’s in-house quality hubs and Prosemi testing facility are fully certified to meet critical industry standards for electronic component inspection and testing.
