The MFP7E10-N020 is a 20m passive multimode fibre (MMF) cable assembly from NVIDIA, terminated with MPO12 APC connectors at both ends. It supports data rates up to 400GbE at an 850nm wavelength. MPO12 is a 12-fibre parallel connector, which is the standard interface for breaking a high-speed parallel optical transceiver out to multiple lanes or ports. The APC (angled physical contact) endface reduces back reflection compared with a flat-polished connector.
The MFP7E10-N020 provides structured optical cabling between racks or rows in a data centre, connecting parallel optical transceivers where the reach exceeds what direct attach copper can carry. At 20m it is a typical row-level or cross-aisle run linking servers to leaf switches, or leaf switches to spine switches, in AI training and HPC fabrics. The 12-fibre MPO interface matches parallel transceiver modules directly, and can also feed a breakout cassette to split one port into several lower-rate links.
