The SEDC600M/480G is a Kingston DC600M series 480GB solid state drive in a 2.5-inch form factor with a SATA III interface. It is built on 3D TLC NAND flash and is rated for 0°C to 70°C operation. The DC600M line is a data center SATA family, which places it in the enterprise category rather than the client SSD segment, and the 2.5-inch SATA format allows it to drop into existing server and storage bays without a backplane change.
Data center SATA SSDs at entry capacities are used as boot and operating system drives in servers, as cache and metadata tiers alongside larger capacity media, and as the primary storage in edge nodes, network appliances, and virtualization hosts that do not need NVMe throughput.
