The NVIDIA MMS4X00-NS is an OSFP optical transceiver from the Mellanox product line, recorded as a DR4 dual-mode parallel module operating at 1310 nm with an 800Gb/s maximum data rate and a 500 m reach. The record lists 17 W power dissipation and a 0°C to 70°C operating range, with tray packaging of 50 units. The product title describes a 400GbE module with 100 m reach, which conflicts with the attribute record; the attribute values have been used here and the datasheet should be checked before ordering. DR4 optics run four parallel lanes over single-mode fibre at 1310 nm.

DR4 OSFP transceivers carry high-bandwidth links over single-mode fibre across a data hall, typically between leaf and spine switches or from GPU servers to aggregation layers where multimode reach runs out. Parallel DR4 optics can also be broken out to lower-speed ports, which network designers use to fan a single high-speed switch port out to several servers. AI cluster builders, hyperscale operators and HPC centres running Infini Band or Ethernet fabrics are the main buyers.
