The LTM4625IY#PBF is an Analog Devices (Linear Technology) LTM4625 u Module step-down DC/DC regulator, a complete power module that integrates the switching controller, power switches, inductor and support components in one BGA package. It accepts a 4 V to 20 V input and delivers up to 5 A on a single adjustable output rated to 5.5 V, switching at 1 MHz with 91 percent efficiency. The LTM4625IY#PBF is supplied in a 25-pin BGA measuring 6.35 mm x 6.35 mm x 5.21 mm, so a full 5 A rail occupies a very small board area with no external magnetics. It is RoHS compliant with no REACH SVHC declarations and is rated from -40 C to +125 C.
Power modules are chosen when a designer wants a regulated rail without doing magnetics selection, loop compensation and switching-node layout, which is the part of a discrete buck design most likely to cause EMI and stability problems. The LTM4625IY#PBF condenses a 5 A rail into a 6.35 mm square footprint, so it is used for FPGA, ASIC, DSP and processor supply rails on dense boards, in test and measurement instruments, medical equipment, and industrial and communications systems. Its 4 V to 20 V input span covers regulated 5 V and 12 V intermediate buses directly. Typical buyers are hardware designers with tight schedules or limited power-supply expertise, and teams building low-volume, high-mix boards where module cost is outweighed by design time saved.
Fusion’s in-house quality hubs and Prosemi testing facility are fully certified to meet critical industry standards for electronic component inspection and testing.
