The Analog Devices LTM8053EY#PBF is a step-down DC-DC u Module regulator that accepts a 3.4 V to 40 V input and produces an adjustable output from 970 mV to 15 V. It uses a buck topology switching at 3 MHz with up to 80 percent maximum duty cycle, and includes over-temperature protection. The single-output module is supplied in a 48-pin BGA package measuring 8.89 mm x 6.35 mm x 3.52 mm. LTM8053EY#PBF is a production-status, RoHS-compliant surface-mount device rated -40 C to +125 C with a 125 C maximum junction temperature.
A u Module regulator is a system-in-package power converter: the controller, power switches, inductor and compensation components are integrated in one BGA, so the designer gets a working switching supply without magnetics selection or loop compensation work. A 3.4 V to 40 V input span covers 5 V, 12 V, 24 V and battery rails from a single design, and 3 MHz switching keeps the passives and output ripple small. Typical applications include automotive and transportation electronics, industrial and factory automation, robotics, test and measurement instruments, and communications hardware needing a compact point-of-load rail from a wide unregulated bus. Buyers are typically hardware designers under schedule or board-area pressure and manufacturers standardizing on drop-in power blocks.
Fusion’s in-house quality hubs and Prosemi testing facility are fully certified to meet critical industry standards for electronic component inspection and testing.
