The BMA253 is a Bosch three-axis digital acceleration sensor, part of the BMA253 series, supplied in a 12-pin LGA package. The BMA253 operates from a supply of up to 3.6 V and draws around 130 uA, and it outputs acceleration measurements over a digital interface rather than as an analog voltage. It is RoHS compliant and supplied on tape and reel.
Three-axis MEMS accelerometers detect tilt, orientation, motion, shock, vibration and free-fall, which is why they appear in almost every portable and connected device. Sensors like the BMA253 handle display auto-rotation, step counting and activity detection in phones and wearables, wake-on-motion in battery-powered devices, drop detection in storage products, and vibration monitoring in industrial and appliance equipment. The low current draw makes always-on sensing practical on a coin cell or small battery. Consumer device makers, IoT designers and industrial condition-monitoring vendors are the typical users, with the digital interface simplifying integration to a microcontroller.
Fusion’s in-house quality hubs and Prosemi testing facility are fully certified to meet critical industry standards for electronic component inspection and testing.
