The NVIDIA MFS1S00-H005V is a 5 m active optical cable with QSFP56 connectors on both ends, supporting Infini Band HDR and 200GbE Ethernet at up to 200 Gb/s. Carrying the Mellanox brand, it uses multi-mode optical fibre with 850 nm VCSEL transmitters, a low smoke zero halogen (LSZH) jacket, and a 30 mm minimum bend radius. The MFS1S00-H005V is rated for 0°C to 70°C operation and is supplied individually.

Active optical cables carry the link over fibre with the transceiver optics permanently attached at each end, which extends reach well past passive copper while staying thinner, lighter, and easier to route through dense cable trays. At 5 m and 200 Gb/s they are the standard interconnect for HDR Infini Band and 200GbE fabrics inside and between adjacent racks — server or GPU node to leaf switch, and leaf to spine — where copper of the same length would not close the link. Typical users are AI and HPC cluster builders, cloud and data center operators, and research computing sites deploying Infini Band or high-speed Ethernet fabrics. The LSZH jacket meets data center cabling fire and smoke requirements, and the permanently attached optics mean the cable is replaced as a unit rather than re-terminated.
