The M24128-BWMN6TP is an STMicroelectronics M24128 series serial EEPROM with 128Kb of density organized as 16K x 8, accessed over a two-wire I2C interface at up to 400k Hz and supplied in an 8-pin SOIC package. It operates from a 2.5V to 5.5V supply, draws 2mA, has a 900ns access time and is rated -40C to +85C. EEPROM is byte-erasable and byte-writable non-volatile memory, which distinguishes it from flash and makes it the standard choice for small parameter and calibration stores. STMicroelectronics has moved this orderable part to NRND (not recommended for new designs) status, so it remains available for existing production but is not intended for new design-in.

Serial I2C EEPROM of this density stores calibration constants, serial numbers and MAC addresses, user configuration, board identification data and small event or fault logs in industrial controllers, networking equipment, appliances, medical devices, sensor modules and automotive electronics. It is also the standard part behind SPD and module-identification EEPROMs on plug-in cards and cable assemblies. Because the part is NRND, demand is concentrated in sustaining production and last-time-buy sourcing, so buyers are OEM supply teams protecting existing builds, contract manufacturers holding qualified BOMs, and MRO suppliers stocking replacements.
