The NXP Semiconductors PCA9506BS,118 is a 40-bit I/O expander with an I2C interface supporting 100k Hz and 400k Hz operation. It is supplied in a 56-pin HVQFN surface-mount package with exposed pad, operates at up to 5.5V, and provides up to 15mA output current. The device is RoHS compliant, lead free, and rated for -40°C to 85°C operation.
The PCA9506BS,118 is used to add a large number of general-purpose I/O lines to a host processor over a simple I2C bus.
