The TRF7970ARHBR is a Texas Instruments fully integrated multi-protocol NFC and RFID transceiver operating at the 13.56M Hz carrier frequency. The device runs from 2.7V to 5.5V drawing up to 150mA, is rated -40C to 110C ambient with a 125C maximum junction temperature, and comes in a 32-pin VQFN measuring 5mm x 5mm x 1mm. It is lead free, RoHS compliant, active and in production, on tape and reel.

A 13.56M Hz transceiver handles the analogue front end and protocol framing for contactless communication, leaving the host microcontroller to run the application.
