The REF3012AIDBZR is a Texas Instruments 1.25V series voltage reference with a 0.2% initial tolerance and a 20ppm/C temperature coefficient. It operates from a 1.8V to 5.5V input at 42uA nominal supply current, with 50uA of quiescent current and up to 25mA of output current. The REF3012AIDBZR is supplied in a 3-pin SOT-23 package on tape and reel, rated from -40C to 125C.
A series voltage reference sets the full-scale point for an ADC or DAC, so its tolerance and drift set the ceiling on the accuracy of every measurement the system makes. Designers also use references for precision current sources, comparator thresholds, sensor bias and battery monitoring. The 1.25V output on the REF3012AIDBZR suits low-voltage single-supply systems running from 1.8V or 3.3V where a 2.5V reference would leave no headroom, and the 42uA supply current makes it viable in battery-powered instrumentation and portable medical devices.
