The LMV431BIMFX/NOPB is a Texas Instruments adjustable precision shunt regulator with a 0.5% tolerance and a 1.24V minimum output reference, adjustable up to 30V. It handles up to 15mA of output current with an 80uA cathode current, a 35V maximum input voltage and a 138ppm/C temperature coefficient. The LMV431BIMFX/NOPB is supplied in a 3-pin SOT-23 package on tape and reel, rated from -40C to 85C.
Adjustable shunt regulators set a stable reference voltage using two external resistors, and are most commonly used in the feedback loop of isolated switching power supplies, where the part sits on the secondary side and drives an optocoupler. They also serve as comparators with an integrated reference for undervoltage and overvoltage detection, and as low-cost precision references for ADCs. The 1.24V low reference on the LMV431BIMFX/NOPB allows regulation down to output voltages a 2.5V-class reference cannot support, which matters in low-voltage adapters and battery-powered designs.
Fusion’s in-house quality hubs and Prosemi testing facility are fully certified to meet critical industry standards for electronic component inspection and testing.
