Power distribution switches let firmware turn individual board rails on and off, cutting standby current in idle subsystems and enforcing the order in which supplies come up. The controlled rise time is the key parameter: ramping the output over 1.75 ms limits inrush current into large bulk capacitance so the upstream supply does not brown out during sequencing. A 6 A rating from a supply as low as 0.6 V covers modern low-voltage core rails as well as 3.3 V and 5 V rails.
