The Texas Instruments TAS2505TRGERQ1 is an automotive-qualified single-channel mono Class-D audio amplifier in a 24-pin VQFN package with an exposed thermal pad. It delivers up to 2.6 W of output power into a 4 ohm load with 18 dB of gain and 55 dB power supply rejection. The device uses a triple-supply architecture with a rail range of 1.5 V to 1.95 V and operates from -40 C to +105 C with a 125 C maximum junction temperature. It is RoHS compliant, lead free, halogen free, and supplied on tape and reel in quantities of 3, 000.

Class-D amplifiers switch rather than dissipate, so they reach far higher efficiency than linear Class-AB parts and need little or no heatsinking. A mono automotive-qualified part at this power level is used to drive a single small speaker for chimes, voice prompts, hands-free audio, and warning tones. Typical users include automotive tier-one suppliers building instrument clusters, telematics and infotainment head units, and driver-assistance alert modules, as well as designers of industrial HMI panels needing audio feedback.
