The Analog Devices AD5791BRUZ is a 20-bit, single-channel voltage-output digital-to-analog converter in a 20-pin TSSOP package. It uses an SPI serial interface, provides a bipolar voltage output, and operates over a listed 2.7V to 5.5V supply with 600uA nominal supply current and a 1us settling time. The AD5791BRUZ is rated -40C to 125C with a 126.3mW maximum power dissipation, and is supplied in tubes.
A 20-bit voltage-output DAC is specified where the analog setpoint itself must be more precise than any downstream circuit, so it is used for instrument-grade control rather than signal generation. Typical applications include automated test equipment, scientific and analytical instruments, mass spectrometry and magnet or laser current control, industrial process control setpoints, and calibration references on production test stands. Design engineers choose the bipolar output version when the controlled quantity has to swing symmetrically about zero.
Fusion’s in-house quality hubs and Prosemi testing facility are fully certified to meet critical industry standards for electronic component inspection and testing.
