The Texas Instruments LMC555CMX/NOPB is a single CMOS timer and oscillator IC in an 8-pin SOIC package, operating at frequencies up to 3 MHz. As a 555-type timer it can be configured for monostable one-shot, astable oscillator, or pulse-width modulation duty. It runs from a wide 1.5 V to 15 V supply while drawing only 50 uA of quiescent current, and sources or sinks up to 100 mA at the output. The device is specified from -40 C to +85 C and is RoHS compliant, lead free, and supplied on tape and reel.
The LMC555CMX/NOPB is used to generate timing delays, clock and pulse trains, and PWM signals without a microcontroller. Its CMOS process keeps supply current in the microamp range, which makes it a common choice in battery-powered timing circuits, sensor sampling clocks, and LED or motor duty-cycle control. Typical users include industrial control, instrumentation, consumer appliance, and hobbyist and educational board designers. The 1.5 V minimum supply lets it operate on low-voltage rails where a bipolar 555 would not.
Fusion’s in-house quality hubs and Prosemi testing facility are fully certified to meet critical industry standards for electronic component inspection and testing.
