The TPL5010DDCR is a nano-power programmable system timer with integrated watchdog functionality from Texas Instruments, supplied in a 6-pin SOT-23 surface-mount package. It operates from a 1.8 V to 5.5 V supply and draws a nominal 35 nA quiescent current, allowing it to run continuously as the always-on wake-up source in a battery-powered system. A system timer of this type replaces the always-running timer peripheral of a host microcontroller, so the processor can be held in its deepest sleep state between scheduled wake events. The TPL5010DDCR is rated for -40 C to 105 C operation with a 150 C maximum junction temperature.
Nano-power system timers are used in duty-cycled equipment where average current, not peak performance, sets the battery life: utility and sub-metering endpoints, wireless sensor nodes, asset trackers, smoke and gas detectors, and remote industrial telemetry. The watchdog function gives these unattended designs a hardware recovery path if firmware stops servicing the timer, which matters in installations that cannot be reached for a manual power cycle. Typical buyers are industrial IoT and metering OEMs and their contract manufacturers. The part is in Production status with an Active manufacturer lifecycle, is RoHS compliant and lead free, and ships on tape and reel in 3, 000-piece quantities.
Fusion’s in-house quality hubs and Prosemi testing facility are fully certified to meet critical industry standards for electronic component inspection and testing.
