The Texas Instruments CDCLVP1212RHAR is a clock fanout buffer and multiplexer from the CDCLVP series that distributes one of two LVTTL inputs to 12 outputs. It runs to a maximum frequency of 2 gigahertz with a 550ps propagation delay and a 50% output duty cycle, drawing 88mA operating supply current from a 2.375V to 3.6V rail. The CDCLVP1212RHAR is supplied in a 40-pin VQFN surface-mount package measuring 6mm by 6mm and is rated -40°C to 85°C.
Clock fanout buffers replicate a single reference clock into many matched copies so that every device on a board sees the same edge with controlled skew. A 12-output part running to 2 gigahertz is used to distribute reference clocks across FPGAs, ASICs, Ser Des lanes, data converters and backplane connectors in telecom line cards, wireless base stations, test and measurement instruments and high-speed networking equipment. The two-input multiplexer front end lets designers switch between a primary and a redundant or test clock source. Hardware engineers select it where loading a single oscillator directly would degrade jitter and edge rate.
Fusion’s in-house quality hubs and Prosemi testing facility are fully certified to meet critical industry standards for electronic component inspection and testing.
