The Texas Instruments TS3L501ERUAR is a 3.3V, 2-to-1 (SPDT) Ethernet LAN switch with a power-down mode, in a 42-pin WQFN package. The attributes list 8 channels with 16 inputs and 8 outputs, and the device operates from a 3V to 3.6V supply drawing 250uA. The TS3L501ERUAR is rated -40C to 85C, is lead-free and RoHS compliant, and ships on tape and reel.
An Ethernet LAN switch of this type is a passive signal multiplexer, not a packet switch: it routes the physical differential pairs of a port between two destinations under logic control. Designers use it to share one RJ45 connector between two PHYs, to switch a port between a main and a redundant or management controller, and to support failover and port-bypass paths on line cards. Typical products are networking and telecom equipment, industrial Ethernet gear and server management boards, where the power-down mode also allows the unused path to be isolated.
Fusion’s in-house quality hubs and Prosemi testing facility are fully certified to meet critical industry standards for electronic component inspection and testing.
