The Texas Instruments TPS23730RMTR is an IEEE 802.3bt Type 3 Power over Ethernet powered-device interface controller covering classes 1 through 6, integrated with a high-efficiency DC-DC controller. It is supplied in a 45-pin VQFN package measuring 7 mm by 5 mm with a 900 micrometre thickness. Combining the PD interface and the converter controller in one device means the detection, classification and inrush handling required by the PoE standard and the isolated power stage that follows it are handled by a single part. TI lists the device as in Production.
802.3bt Type 3 powered-device controllers sit at the Ethernet port of equipment that draws its power from the network cable: IP and PTZ security cameras, wireless access points, VoIP phones, LED lighting nodes, digital signage, building-automation sensors and industrial IO modules. Class 1 through 6 support spans the low-power end up to the roughly 51 W available at the PD under Type 3, so one design can serve a range of product tiers. Buyers are networking, security, lighting and building-automation OEMs. Only seven attributes are recorded here and all describe the package, so confirm electrical ratings and class power figures against the TI datasheet.
Fusion’s in-house quality hubs and Prosemi testing facility are fully certified to meet critical industry standards for electronic component inspection and testing.
