The TPS23754PWPR from Texas Instruments is a high-efficiency IEEE 802.3at Power over Ethernet interface and DC/DC controller. A PoE powered-device interface handles detection and classification signalling with the power sourcing equipment, passes the negotiated power through an internal pass switch, and then hands the isolated rail to a DC/DC controller that generates the board supply, so a single device covers both halves of the powered-device design. The TPS23754PWPR has a 750mΩ resistance, an 850mA minimum current limit, and is rated for -40°C to 125°C. It is supplied in a 20-pin HTSSOP with exposed pad measuring 6.5mm by 4.4mm with a 1.2mm height, lead free and RoHS compliant, in tape and reel.
PoE powered-device controllers sit at the Ethernet port of equipment that draws its operating power from the network cable instead of a local adapter, removing the need for a separate power drop at the installation point. IEEE 802.3at (PoE+) class devices cover the higher power budget needed by pan-tilt-zoom and infrared security cameras, multi-radio wireless access points, video-enabled IP phones, thin clients, digital signage players, and building automation controllers. The -40°C to 125°C rating supports outdoor and unconditioned installations. Buyers are typically networking, surveillance, and building systems OEMs and their contract manufacturers.
Fusion’s in-house quality hubs and Prosemi testing facility are fully certified to meet critical industry standards for electronic component inspection and testing.
