The Texas Instruments TMP112AIDRLR is a digital temperature sensor with an I2C and SMBus 2-wire interface in a 6-pin SOT-563 package. It operates from a 1.4V to 3.6V supply across a -40C to 125C measurement and operating range, with 0.5C accuracy per the product title. The TMP112AIDRLR measures 1.6mm x 1.2mm at 600um height, is halogen-free, lead-free and RoHS compliant, and ships on tape and reel in 4, 000-piece reels.
A digital temperature sensor reports a calibrated reading over I2C, removing the ADC channel, reference and linearization work that a thermistor or RTD front end would require. Typical uses are thermal management and throttling in computers and networking equipment, battery pack and charger temperature monitoring, HVAC and building controls, environmental monitoring, and cold-chain and medical instrumentation. The 1.4V minimum supply and very small SOT-563 body make it practical to place several around a board or inside a battery pack where space and power are limited.
