The onsemi CAT24C64YI-GT3 is a 64 kb (8K x 8) serial EEPROM with an I2C interface, supplied in an 8-pin TSSOP package. It operates from a wide 1.7 V to 5.5 V supply, supporting 1.8 V, 2.5 V, 3.3 V, and 5 V systems, and runs the I2C bus at up to 400 k Hz. Access time is 400 ns and nominal supply current is 2 mA. The device is organised as 8, 192 words of 8 bits, is specified from -40 C to +85 C, and is RoHS compliant, lead free, and supplied on tape and reel.

Serial EEPROM at this density is used for non-volatile storage of calibration constants, serial numbers, board identification data, user settings, and event or fault counters. Unlike flash, EEPROM supports byte-level erase and write, which suits values updated frequently and individually.
