The Broadcom LPe32002-M2 is an Emulex Gen 6 dual-port Fibre Channel host bus adapter from the LPe32000-Series, rated at 32GFC per port. It uses a PCIe 3.0 x8 system interface in a low-profile server form factor measuring 6.6 in x 2.712 in, and supports both FC-SCSI and FC-NVMe devices. Each LPe32002-M2 box ships with the low-profile HBA and optics, a standard bracket installed, and a low-profile bracket.
Fibre Channel host bus adapters connect servers to a SAN fabric, giving block storage a dedicated, lossless network separate from the Ethernet data path. Dual 32GFC ports provide both throughput headroom and multipath redundancy, so a single link or switch failure does not take an application offline. FC-NVMe support lets the same adapter carry NVMe over the existing Fibre Channel fabric, which is how many enterprises move to flash arrays without rebuilding the storage network. The LPe32002-M2 is bought by enterprise data center teams, virtualization and database administrators, and server OEMs and integrators building SAN-attached hosts.
